DeVé

DeVé is a talented young woman who first provided her silken vocals to a few of Quicksilver Night Productions earlier projects over a decade ago. These included singing Dream Sequence Gunmen’s licensed cover of Joan Baez’s “Diamonds and Rust” and Quicksilver Night’s 2012 single “Buffalo Head” that was later remastered and released on Quicksilver Night’s 2018 “Symmetry” album. Now “back in town”, as they say, she and I are already hard at work producing new music.

From Virginia Beach, DeVé is happily married to an active-duty US Navy Sailor who’s currently assigned to Naval Station Norfolk (VA) and they have a beautiful daughter together.

We released DeVé’s fully-licensed, harder-edged cover version of Katy Perry’s 2008 hit “I Kissed a Girl” – featuring the inimitable Milt Gore on lead guitar – on February 14th, 2026!

Some of you might recall that we released another cover of the same song in 2021 but I was dissatisfied with a few different elements of that production. I was casually toying with the idea of redoing it “sometime down the road” and when I said as much to DeVé she excitedly jumped at the chance and absolutely insisted that we do it so we dug up the old session files and stripped out the previous vocals – so yes, it’s all DeVé – and completely remixed and remastered it for a fun but harder-edged, more guitar-driven sound.

“I Kissed a Girl” is available at all major DSPs to include the following:

Released October 31, 2025, the syncopated rhythms and quartal harmonies of Quicksilver Night’s “Rocket Surgery” lean heavily towards the jazz end of the musical spectrum. Sung with humor and class by DeVé, the song’s amazing vocalist and dynamic co-writer, “Rocket Surgery” outlines an adult woman’s pointed advice to her paramour how to treat her better, concluding with a tongue-in-cheek “It’s not rocket surgery”. The song also features jazz stalwarts Jae Sinnett and Kelly Rossum on drum set and trumpet respectively.

Thanks in advance!

Released July 4th, 2025, our licensed cover version of Missing Persons’ 1982 “Words” contains a piano and strings introduction inlaid with some spoken word by my dear friend Dikajee (in Russian); those words foreshadow and later accompany my narration at the bridge of the song alongside DeVé’s spot-on performance of the original bridge lyrics. The resultant somewhat indistinct babble is intentional and is meant to invoke the very overload that the song describes.

DeVé and I attended the 2026 VEER Music Awards on February 9th, 2026. We were happy enough to have received four nominations across three catagories, a welcome validation in of itself, but thrilled to discover that we won Animated/AI Music Video for our version of Missing Persons’ “Words” featuring DeVé on vocals.

DeVé was absolutely dressed to the nines and killin’ it, as you can clearly see, and accepted the award on our behalf.
